I started Multi-Communities after surviving physical, sexual, emotional/psychological and spiritual
abuse. Eventually, as my healing progressed, I felt a strong desire to work towards ending shame and
silence in my own faith community.Gradually my dream and vision increased to include helping predominantly African American faith communities throughout the Greater Seattle area and beyond.
Multi-Communities utilizes a team approach in addressing domestic, youth and sexual violence, as well as chemical dependency in predominantly African American faith and other communities utilizing education, prevention and intervention strategies. Staff works alongside a multidisciplinary team of professionals from adult/youth victim and perpetrator treatment programs to help faith/other community leaders, and others provide effective responses and solutions to reduce, prevent, or reverse cycles of violence and/or addiction.
