Multi-Communities(M.I.C.) addresses Domestic, Youth and Sexual Violence as well as chemical dependency
in predominantly African American faith, as well as other communities utilizing education, prevention
and intervention strategies (traditional as well as non-traditional).
Multi-Communities utilizes a wrap around multi-faceted approach, which involves staff, plus a
multidisciplinary team of professionals providing ongoing education, information, and resources to
the following within each faith or other community setting:
- Faith and other Community Leaders
- Designated Peer Helpers
- Individualized one-on-one confidential services for victim/survivors
- Impacted others such as family, friends, and other community members
- Those who behave violently can also receive resources and help, in cases where it does not put victim/survivors or others at further risk of danger
To ensure effective responses to victim/survivors of violence, as well those who behave violently,
and impacted others.
