Multi-Communities received past awards from King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence
and the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center for work in addressing domestic and sexual
violence in predominantly African American faith Communities.
Multi-Communities most recent projects include “Singing Our Songs”—an online survey for Black/African American girls and women, ages 14-25, who have been impacted by domestic and/or sexual violence, from faith communities in South, Central or West Seattle and had been impacted by domestic or sexual violence. The Project was sponsored by City of Seattle, Dept. of Neighborhoods, Small and Simple Funds Project, and in cooperation with King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, and King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and was completed in mid-February. There were 96 participants.
In addition, we have a new booklet entitled “101 Ways to Prevent, Reduce or Reverse Violence in Our Communities” which is also available.
